I’m not sure I should go as far as to call this a “wishlist” when these books are mostly super rare and/or ridiculously expensive editions I know I’ll probably never even see in person. BUT LOOK HOW GORGEOUS THEY ARE. This post is totally just a way for me to still share some of my favorite books without them actually being… well, mine. If some magical book-granting fairy showed up, these are the top 5 editions I would wish for:

honestly the prettiest books EVER.

Edmund Spenser’s The Faerie Queene
Published by The Folio Society

The Chronicles of Narnia leather-bound B&N edition
ISBN: 9781435117150

Anne of Green Gables & Anne of Avonlea from The Folio Society

The HarperCollins 2014 clothbound edition of The Fellowship of the Ring
ISBN: 9780007522903

This custom French Literature set from Juniper Books

I know a few of you have one (or more) of these editions and I absolutely LOVE seeing all of the gorgeous pictures that show up on bookstagram. I definitely don’t need to own these — it’s just fun to see them exist!

Which editions would be on your ultimate wishlist?

  1. Oh my god, I’m drooling over these. My wishlist would have to include one of the first editions of Les Miserables (this particular one is in English, published simultaneously with the first French edition) : https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=22495497512&searchurl=kn%3Dles%2Bmiserables%2B1st%2Benglish%2Bedition%26sortby%3D1&cm_sp=snippet-_-srp1-_-title1

A much cheaper wish is a full-leather collector’s edition of all 5 books in The Dark is Rising Sequence: https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=14290611315&searchurl=bi%3Dh%26ds%3D30%26bx%3Doff%26sortby%3D1%26tn%3Dthe%2Bdark%2Bis%2Brising%26kn%3Dsequence%26recentlyadded%3Dall&cm_sp=snippet-_-srp1-_-title3
