I know pretty much every new YA fantasy book right now says “FOR FANS OF MAAS” on the cover, so here are some titles where I feel like that claim would be accurate. The plots of the books below are way different, but they mostly have some of the following: a fun group of friends, a creative fantasy world, a medieval feeling or influences of ancient Ireland, and typical YA fantasy elements like a badass princess with magic and/or swords.

Some of these might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but hopefully you can find a few you like! (I linked a few to their Goodreads pages):

  1. The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
  2. The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E Pearson

Ooh, and Sun & Moon, Ice & Snow by Jessica Day George is a fun retelling of East of the Sun, West of the Moon (like ACOTAR).

  1. Wow, I definitely need to check these books out! I’ve read some of them (not going to count right now, but definitely less than half), and I like them and Throne of Glass so much that I know I’m going to love the other books. Thanks for the list!

  2. Wanted to first say thanks for the list, but also to note that the light pink color can be a bit hard to read. I’m partially color blind so that could be the issue, but I thought I’d drop the feedback.

    • Thanks for letting em know! I’m still working on the general design of my blog and have changed the links to be a bit darker now 🙂

  3. How dare you give me more books to read on top of the ones I already have to read—for school and for fun. (Joking, obviously)

  4. Hi do you know that you can increase your conversion ratio couple of times and earn extra cash every day.
There is incredible landing pages tool. It is very easy even for noobs, if you are interested simply search in gooogle: pandatsor’s tools

  5. I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come
across a blog that’s equally educative and entertaining,
and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head.

The issue is something that not enough folks are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my hunt for something
    concerning this.
