I’m a huge fan of retellings/origin stories AND all things Disney, so I’m pretty excited to share this giveaway with you guys! Mistress of All Evil by Serena Valentino was released on October 3. It’s the fourth book in Disney’s Villains series, which tells the stories of how Disney antagonists became the awesome villains we know. And of course, since I have the chance to talk about Disney villains… see below for my favorite villains & songs!

Thanks to Disney-Hyperion for sending me a set of the Villains books + mug, and for providing a prize pack!

Why does Maleficent curse the innocent princess? What led to her becoming so filled with malice, anger, and hatred? Many tales have tried to explain her motives. Here is one account, pulled down from the many passed down through the ages. It is a tale of love and betrayal, of magic and reveries. It is a tale of the Mistress of All Evil. Recommended for ages 9+.

Serena Valentino has been weaving tales that combine mythos and guile for the past decade. She has earned critical acclaim in both the comic and horror domains, where she is known for her unique style of storytelling, bringing her readers into exquisitely frightening worlds filled with terror, beauty, and extraordinary protagonists. The books in her best-selling Villains series are best enjoyed when read in the following order: Fairest of All, The Beast Within, Poor Unfortunate Soul, and Mistress of All Evil.

My Favorite Villains

This was super difficult because my all-time favorite villains don’t really have songs… and I obviously NEED to list some favorite villain songs if I’m talking about Disney! So I decided to go with 2 lists of my top 3 villains in general and then my favorite villain songs (although, let’s be honest… I love them all):

Top 3 Favorite:

Apparently I’m a huge fan of the sarcastic villains. Yzma is so underrated.
speaking of underrated… Madam Mim is definitely up there. I haven’t seen this movie in forever, though, so it might be nostalgia talking.

Top 3 Villain Songs

Gaston is straight up hilarious. I’m a huge fan of the revised lyrics in the live action Beauty & the Beast, too!
Ratcliffe isn’t one of my absolute favorite villains, but his song is SO catchy.
Ok, I’ll admit “Be Prepared” freaked me out as a little kid. BUT I love it now!

Aaaah that was hard to leave out so many other favorites. Let me know in the comments who you’d pick for your top 3!

Open to US addresses only. Ends 10/25. One (1) winner will receive:

  • the complete set of Villains books
  • and a branded mug that changes colors when filled with hot water!

  1. I love Yzma too! Emperor’s New Groove is a classic in my house!

I just read Ursula’s book, so I’m excited to read the others! I entered the giveaway – also, my phone decided to be annoying and not let me type in my full Instagram username – it’s @marrills_bookravens and I’ve followed you since your rep search 😉😂

  2. Yzma is my all time favorite villain – something about the combination of funny and scary. I’m also brave enough to admit that Ursula STILL scares me!

  3. My daughter and I both have these books on our wish list
I am so excited to get my hands on them and read all of them!!!
