Earlier this fall I asked some followers if they’d want to submit some scrapbook pages of letters, fan art, pictures, thank you notes, etc to gather a bunch of love for Sarah J Maas into one place. I know she sees so much support and all of these individual items at her signings and everywhere, but I thought it would be fun to mail her one giant collection she can actually hold all at once!

This project was also something fun for the fans who just want to get excited about books and be part of a community. Some of the Twitter drama this fall was disheartening, so here’s something happier 🙂

I intended to mail this scrapbook in October, but one of the pages from South Africa took its time getting to me. That’s totally fine, though, and the book is finally assembled & shipped! I just worked with whatever people sent me – some people wrote on both sides of a smaller card instead of sending a 12×12 scrapbook page, so I made a pocket in the back to tuck all of those notes into.

So here are some pics of the final book! If you asked me not to take a picture of your page then I left it out:

Around 70 people submitted something! Not everyone said where they were from, but the following countries were represented for sure:

  • United States (from a ton of different states)
  • The United Kingdom
  • Ireland
  • India
  • New Zealand
  • Japan
  • Australia
  • Germany
  • The Philippines
  • Norway
  • Finland
  • Mexico
  • France
  • South Africa
  • Spain
  • Pakistan
  • Canada
  • Slovenia
  • Sweden
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Brazil
  • Russia

So thank you SO MUCH again to everyone who contributed! It was just so much fun to see all of the enthusiasm for Maas and her books. You guys are amazing!!

    • Yes, you can! I’d prefer most pages to be mailed in so I don’t have to pay to print out a ton, but if email is what works best for you then go ahead 🙂

  1. Thank you for thinking of this! I think it’s a wonderful idea! I was disgusted with the stuff I saw on Twitter. It’s awful how somebody can be so wretched and cruel to such a pure soul who writes such fantastic books and means so much to so many of us! Fair enough if you don’t like the plot of a book but that gives nobody the right to attack the author’s character or integrity. I won’t even get started on the fact that some people are giving negative reviews and attacking her based on spoilers and having not read the actual book! I definitely want to submit for this book! Sarah is one of my favorite authors in the whole world and I hate to think of her seeing these awful comments! Us #TeamMaas need to stick together ❤

    • You only have to write whatever you want to include!

There’s no actual guideline besides the size dimensions. Some people are including their instagram or twitter usernames! Others are just signing it with their first names. And then some people are just doing the actual collage or whatever without any name.

  2. This is so sweet of you to orchestrate! I’m sure a gift like this would definitely make Ms. Maas’ day! I’m not a superfan of hers, but I did enjoy ACOMAF very much and I’ll be reading her ToG series these next couple of weeks. I’ll try to send something in to show my support of a fellow author and reader!

  3. This is wonderful. As a long time follower of Sarah’s, it seriously disgusts me to see this all happening. Because whiny children don’t get their way about a “ship” or whatever. Gross. But anyway, I have photos of Sarah at events going back to her first Book Expo signing back in 2012. And more through the years. I’d love to make a page, if I can get it in before your deadline. Will be sharing this with other bookish friends who might wanna participate! 🙂

  4. Hi! I’m so excited for this, it’s so clever! I’d love to be apart of it, the only thing is is that I live down in South Africa and mailing is hella slow and I don’t know if it will make it in time, so I’m gonna try mail it to you but otherwise can I send a picture via email of what I’d like to send? Thank you 🙂

  5. this is such a good idea!! i’ll definitely try to get something mailed, if not e-mailed!! thank you for organising this:):):)

  6. I haven’t read any of your books, (ACOTAR is waiting to be picked up tomorrow!) but I am really excited to read them next! I found out about your books through another book discussion group I am in on fackbook and that page started a page about yours! It really makes me sad to hear about all the negative things that fans have been saying, I can’t imagine ever attacking a author I’m a fan of or even one that I don’t like. It’s just not right, but as you know they only make up a small portion of the fandom cause both of my pages think the world of your books and you! Even though I have not yet started the ACOTAR series yet, I know I will LOVE them!!! I’m such a huge fairytale fan, and even bigger fan of a good retelling! I can’t wait to talk to my sister about this trilogy because growing up beauty and the beast was and still is her favorite Disney movie! I wish for you, nothing but peace and good vibes and many more awesome books to come!!!

    Much love and support,
    Tiffany

  7. I have read the first 2 books, a couple years ago (I forget EVERYTHING but names) and I liked them, but I am quite behind on ToG and ACOTAR. I really want to read them. I have also been noticing the hate…and I just don’t get why people need to do this!! If you don’t like the books, go away! Authors write for readers, sure, but they also write for themselves! They get their awesome stories out in the world. Of course, there will always be someone who doesn’t like it, but that is no reason to be so hateful to them. They aren’t there doing your bidding – they are human, too, with different ideas and opinions and FEELINGS. Ugh.
ANYWAY, I digress. This is an awesome idea you have here. I wish I could be a part of it more, but I don’t know much about the books…I suppose a few words of encouragement or kindness would work from anyone, though.
I hope this turns out really well!

  8. This is an absolutely fantastic idea! I was shocked when I heard about all of the negativity people were throwing her way. Just made me really sad that people feel the need to be so hateful towards someone like that. I’d be happy to contribute something to this project.

  9. This is such a great idea. I was wondering if sending you a panel canvas would be okay. It’s small, of course, about 8×10

    • Could it fit into one of those plastic page covers, though? Like it needs to fit in the actual scrapbook album… if you’re doing a painting that would be SO cool to include in a page! But it can’t be terribly thick. Like I’m not sure anything over 1/4″ would fit into the insert.

      • I’m not sure, but I have a few plastic page covers at home that I can try it with. If it doesn’t fit I’ll just do it on paper.

  10. I just mailed mine out today!! Be on the lookout!! Thank you again for organizing this project & I look forward to seeing you post some of the finished project!

    • Yes, please do! A lot of people were late, so I still haven’t even started putting it together yet.

  11. Hi! I completely forgot to tell you but I sent mine in about a week ago. I live in the US so you should have received it by now, but if not, could you let me know when you get it? Thank you!
