Hi! I’m Cait, a twenty-something from the MN/WI area who lives in way too many fictional worlds to count. I adore any story with a medieval feeling, magic, politics, complex characters, pretty scenery, ships, strong worldbuilding, and/or elements of a retelling. Stories with faster pacing and an optimistic sense of possibility are more appealing, so YA fantasy is pretty much my reading niche.

I’ve been in a bit of a “bubble girl” situation for the past 5 years due to severe complications from Lyme disease, so reading is all I’m able to do most days. I spent so much time reading medical journals and other dense texts that I turned to YA books in 2015 for a lighthearted break. I haven’t been able to leave my house for over 2.5 years, so I started this blog in May 2016 as a way to connect with the outside world!

About the Blog

I post book reviews, author interviews, giveaways, fun book merchandise I’ve found, subscription box reviews, bookish news, and other random thoughts.

My Ratings:

  • 5 stars: LOVE. I want to shove this book at everyone I see
  • 4 stars: definitely enjoyed it
  • 3 stars: liked parts, but it could’ve been better overall
  • 2 stars: wouldn’t buy a copy for myself or recommend it
  • 1 star: did not appreciate wasting my time on this

My reviews are my honest opinions on whether or not I personally enjoyed a story. They’re not a final judgement on whether a book is “good” or “bad,” or any reflection on the author themselves. I’m just sharing my enthusiasm to help others with similar taste find something to read. And I love meeting other readers, so please reach out on any platform!

I’ll be posting a bookshelf tour soon, but for now here are some random shelfies:

Disclaimers: I reserve the right to not finish any book I don’t like. Sending me a book or product does not obligate me to do anything that was not stated in a contract or agreed upon prior to my receipt of the items. Not all reviews make it onto my blog. You can find the ratings for everything else I’ve read on my Goodreads. Paying me for a review is just paying for my time and to get to your book; it is not paying for an upgraded opinion. I will state when I received a book and/or compensation in exchange for an honest review.
